Newtron Incorporated 1957 - present.

Since 1957, the Newtron Family has grown and prospered in Auburndale Massachesetts. The Arcuri family is comminment to machining projects on a large scale for customers that includes government agencies. For over fourty years, they have manufactured radar, microwave, and waveguide components. They helped put the first americans on the moon and in future missions, aided in manufacturing a means of transport while on the lunar surface. More recently, they have helped bring a higher degree of safety to the generation of nuclear energy and helped pioneer the introduction of laser scanning and the HD T.V. broadcast signal. To assist in the manufacturing of the parts in the 1980's, the family purchased this industrial cabinet Data General unit to run the machinery. It contains a plotter in the cabinet and a paper tape reader and punch. The tapes were then loaded on the milling machines for manufacturing. When new the computer equipment cost over $250k. The Data General offered many years of quality service and the Arcuri family were proud of their ability to produce exactly what was need and want, within the deadlines and at a fair market price. With this "state-of-the-art" data general, they were capable of carrying any machined part from prototype into high volume production. In May of 2007 the Arcuri family and Newtron donated the Data General to the Rhode Island Computer Museum. The unit looks like it just came our of the Data General Showroom! Newtron is still alive and well and producing manufacturing products for the future. You can vist their website listed below. Joseph. Arcuri, President James.. Arcuri, Vp/Manufacturing Jeffrey.
