DEC PDP-10 KS10 #4165

4165 KS10-AA ADP Onsite

This DEC KS10 was rescued from The Strategic Planning Institute by Megan Gentry and is being stored at the RICM.

Details of the rescue are at: http://world.std.com/~mbg/moi_ks10.html

This system was sold by ADP for managing payroll. It has been modified to support 1MW of memory instead of the standard 512KW. It also has a special front panel that displays the number of local and remote users, and the percentage of utilization.

This system does not have the RH11 tape controller installed. Some ADP Onsite systems had a Western Peripherals tape controller installed and could not boot from tape.

This is the KS10 CPU chassis. The three memory boards at the right are 256KW each, four times the capacity of a standard DEC memory board. The next four boards to the left are the standard DEC 64KW memory boards.

This is the Unibus I/O chassis that sits above the CPU chassis. It contains the printer, display panel, and serial I/O boards.
