Remington Rand Computer Vacuum Tube

Before transistors and integrated circuits were invented computers were manufactured using hundreds or thousands of vacuum tubes.

Remington Rand got into the computer business by buying the Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation and Engineering Research Associates, and then made the UNIVAC. Remington Rand was later bought by Sperry Corporation and merged with Burroughs to form Unisys.
