Valerie began her career at Motorola Semiconductor, where she translated complex computer training manuals into understandable language. She went on to become the first woman in sales for Motorola’s Engine Electronics Group. Later, at Motorola’s Codex division, she sold data communications equipment. As an account manager at Computer Intelligence (now Harte-Hanks), she developed and marketed a telecom market research product that became the highest revenue producer in the product line. While at Qualcomm, she researched new market opportunities at the company’s crucial start-up phase and created marketing communications and press materials.
